Just began working out here. I've seen three staff people and talked to the membership guy, all very friendly and helpful. I go in the mornings; there are enough other patrons to make it feel like a community, but not so many that get in your way. Plenty of equipment, although it's slightly jammed together. It's actually a pretty quiet place. Parking is easy. Best, most cost effective solution for working out in the neighborhood.
Awesome and friendly staff. They have a lot of equipment, although there's a few old pieces in there. They have more then enough treadmills and ellipticals, i haven't had to wait for any. The best part is that they have lots of free parking [clarendon location has no free parking]. The only negative comment is that so much traffic comes through the gym that sometimes its hard to locate dumbells and plates. Great place overall.
Starting off by saying not such a fan of this specific Gold's Gym due to a few issues.
As a visiting Gold Gym member from another location, they required me to relinquish my driver's license to them. Not just show it, but give it to them, which last I looked, they're not police officers or a court of law, but I digress. The big beef I have about it is....they gave my driver's license to a completely different person! Didn't even bother to look and verify, "Gee...does this look like the photo, nope...here you go!" Thankfully, the person who they gave it to and Gold's tried to give me his, was only about 30 minutes away and came back. I was effectively trapped there in that time, as driving around Northern VA, which cops are everywhere, without a license is a very dangerous game.
Well, currently I go to this location, and I will say the staffs especially the white males ar the counter were not friendly at all. The company should train well before putting them into work.
Second and third problems with this gym. Much of the equipment is older and rather beat up. Just going here you can observe why its in the condition it is in, members have little to no respect for the equipment and seem to compete on who can slam and drop their weights the loudest and most; especially in the 'Classic Golds Gym' section with free weights.
Fourth issue, which is more a very curious issue: Whilst they do not offer members any sweat rags, that's minor. But they expect you to wipe down stations and equipment with just crappy brown paper towels that do not do the job really.
Will not honor past cancellation. Unreasonable, condensending, and insulting when trying to discuss, even though they collected >$500 I was unaware of and I received no value. An unapologetic scam.
